Pure Water.

Part service, part awareness campaign, this project explores the necessity for a sustainable alternative to bottled water for people traveling within urban areas.

The Pure Water stand delivers and promotes local, sustainable drinking water (tap water) to the public at a lower price than bottled water.

The service consists of a network of stands located at key points in urban areas, such as busy shopping streets, train stations, and events.

It bypasses all of the greenhouse gas emissions currently associated with the transportation of bottled water.
It cuts out waste - Consumers can now have their own bottles refilled rather than buying a new one each time. - Good for the conscience and the wallet!

Although there is a cost, a staffed station appears to be the only viable option for urban locations, in order to address consumer fears of hygiene. Moreover, the staff are a good way to help convey the message, tackling the problem at a deeper cultural level.

The Pure Water Stand is designed to fold up for easy transportation. It is made from recycled PET bottles and stores a refillable water container - enough for 120 typical bottle refills.

It is designed to elevate the status of tap water, making it socially attractive to drink local water.

The Pure Water stands sell reusable, collapsible bottles, that are suitable for refilling hundreds of times.
