"To interact with light and to change its mood; to transform a space. To prioritize intuition and interactivity over aesthetics. This is the objective of Lu-Me Interactive Lighting, a new lighting system created by recently-graduated designer Hamish Bigg. Hamish is concerned with creating products on the premises of sustainable design, not only catering for consumer needs but those of the planet as well.
Each light contains rechargeable LEDs and magnetic terminals, so the piece can be placed on different metallic surfaces. To turn on or off, you can place the lights in the vertical position (lighted) or horizontal (off). Most interesting of Lu-Me is the possibility to create multiple 'sculptures of light', with an incredible graphical effect: resulting not only from the combination of parts but also from the different available colors of the LED.
Lu-Me can be seen in the Concept Products exhibition, until the 13 of April 2009 at the Home Ideal Show, in London."
